Yiwu International Trade City District 4: getting your goods out
Soft goods compress, mix and mislabel easily, so District 4 rewards buyers who control every handover. The chain runs from booth pickup to a market-area warehouse, then to a forwarder for sea freight via Ningbo-Zhoushan or rail on the Yixinou line.

Booth pickup, done properly
Confirm at each booth who packs, when, and who carries the goods to the warehouse. Soft goods are often handed over bagged rather than cartoned, and bags lose identity faster than cartons, so insist on labelled packaging with a count inside.
Photograph the goods with the stall signboard at handover and keep the delivery note. A scarf mix-up discovered at the port is untraceable without that photo.
The market-area consolidation warehouse
Mixed orders gather at a market-area agent's warehouse, where your goods are repacked into export cartons, marked and measured alongside other buyers' cargo. Compression works in your favour here: soft goods pack down, and a well-planned carton layout reduces freight cost.
Send carton marks ahead, require a closed-carton photo per box, and record a weight per carton. The weigh-in is the single check that catches both shortfalls and substitutions.
Sea or rail out of Yiwu
From Yiwu, mixed containers normally leave by sea through Ningbo-Zhoushan or by rail on the Yixinou China-Europe service. Sea wins on cost per carton; rail wins when the goods must move faster and air freight is out of scale.
The forwarder books the route and issues the document set: packing list, commercial invoice and transport document, with counts that match the warehouse tally. Reconcile all three before the container doors close.
Evidence habits for soft goods
Textiles invite grade substitution because grades look alike. Agree a sampling check against a defect list before goods leave the warehouse; our inspection guide covers the sampling standard in plain terms.
One shared file should hold photos, weights, tallies and purchase orders. When a claim has to be made, that file is the whole case, and it takes minutes to assemble if it was kept as the goods moved.
Where this fits
This page covers the District 4 path from booth to forwarder. The main consolidation guide covers forwarder choice, freight terms and documents that apply to any origin.
Buying across several districts? Consolidate once, with one set of marks and one tally. Several small consignments multiply documents and handovers, and each extra handover is an extra risk.
We describe the market-side flow, not named warehouses or forwarders; verify any specific service provider before committing goods to it.
